Mission
- We all teach to the best of our abilities. We are not teaching to satisfy our ego, or to prove something; we strive always to teach our art with the highest possible quality to each of our students. We stand for the best in the state of the Art.
- Our focus is the student.
- It is important that each and every instructor continuously improves in the Arts he teaches (Wing Tsun, Latosa Escrima) and also in his skills to teach these arts. We seek to improve everybody in any stage in life.
- We focus on continuous improvement of the instructor, as well as the student.
- We believe Self-defense is about being healthy. In Mind, Body, and Spirit. We care a lot and we wish this health for everyone, not just those within our organization.
- Wing Tsun is meant for everybody.
Instructors
Sifu Simon Mayer
Sifu Simon Mayer is a graduate of the elite Wing Tsun Academy, located at the historic Castle Langenzell, near Heidelberg, Germany. He is a direct student of Grandmaster and 10th Level (MOC) Sifu Keith R. Kernspecht.
Sifu Simon communicates the sophisticated concepts of the Wing Tsun system using a cutting edge European training method developed in the past 20 years. Sifu Simon studied Wing Tsun for over 15 years and has learned and practiced with 12 different teachers. He combines all his knowledge and passes it on to all his students.
In 1995 he founded the first professionally operated Wing Tsun organization in the San Francisco Bay Area. Today there are 25 locations in Bay Mountain. All instructors in Bay Mountain have an extensive knowledge and understanding of Wing Tsun Kung Fu and get continuously updated by Sifu Simon in their studies.
He has been studying Latosa Escrima first in Germany, and, since coming to California, as a private student of GrandMaster Rene Latosa.
Sihing John Schroeder
I started studying martial arts at the age of 13 and have been very active for the past 27 years. I worked with five different martial arts systems before finding Wing Tsun and Latosa Escrima in 2000. I now study Wing Tsun and Escrima full-time.

Sihing Thomas Wells
Although he didn't know it at the time Pramada actually fell in love with Wing Tsun around the age of five, after seeing Bruce Lee for the first time. By age thirteen he was formally introduced to Wing Tsun through a teacher, and found that it was the perfect martial art for him. Thirteen years later, due to his undying love for the art (that he had still yet to practice!), he found his Sifu, Simon Mayer.
“To me, the Wing Tsun system is as beautiful in its art, as it is intelligent in its science. Wing Tsun is a science, because it is a martial art that has elements of geometry, physics and physiology throughout the system. Wing Tsun is simultaneously simple and complex. Its simplicity makes it easy to learn and become quickly effective as a form of self defense, while its complexity makes it infinitely intriguing and engaging.”
Sihing Bryce Carter
Dr. Bryce Carter currently teaches a morning class in the Potrero Hill neighborhood of San Francisco. In addition to his study of Wing Tsun Dr. Carter is also a black belt and chief trainer in the United States for White Crane Silat (Indonesian/Chinese martial art).
When not training, Dr. Bryce Carter is a licensed clinical psychololgist with a independent psychotherapy practice located in San Francisco.
Sihing Ken Chilton
Ken Chilton was born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Ken started practicing Wing Chun in February of 2000. In the fall of that year Ken moved to Oregon to continue his education, where he continued to train martial arts. In Oregon Ken studied another style of Wing Chun, Jiu-jitsu, and Aikido. Meanwhile, Ken's brother Mike met Sifu Simon Meyer, and started training Wing Tsun under him. Ken began training with Sifu Simon during holiday breaks at home, and upon obtaining his Bachelor of Arts in philosophy and a minor in business, Ken moved to the Santa Cruz area to assist Mike with his class. After living in Santa Cruz for two years Ken moved to the San Francisco area to start teaching his own class.
Sihing Oliver Moore
Sihing Oliver Moore lives and teaches in the Presidio neighborhood of San Francisco. Oliver believes that the journey of figuring out how and why the Wing Tsun system works is as important as learning the technical motions of the body. Oliver continues to train Wing Tsun under the guidance of Sifu Simon Mayer.
Sihing Adrian Desilva
Si-Hing Adrian De Silva is the Chief Martial Arts Instructor at the Academy of Martial Arts in Oakland, California. He has dedicated his life to spreading the many benefits of the martial arts to the Oakland community.
Sihing Anton Stroganov
Sihing Anton Stroganov has been studying Wing Tsun under Sifu Simon Mayer since 1998. Wing Tsun has become an integral part of his life, a practice of an art that is beautiful in its simplicity, and infinitely complex in its variations. He loves best the logic and clarity of the system, which does not prevent it from being extremely technical and detailed. Sihing Anton currently teaches with Sije Amy in South Park neighborhood of San Francisco.
Sije Amy Tang
Sije Amy has been studying Wing Tsun under Sifu Simon Mayer since 2004.
Sihing Jonathan Hamilton
Si-Hing Jonathan Hamilton began his martial arts training as a child in Tae Kwon Do. Later he continued and expanded his martial arts knowledge by training in Shaolin Kung Fu, Kenpo, Jiu-jitsu, Kali, Shorinjin Ryu Saito Ninjitsu, Presas Style Arnis/Mano Mano, attaining a 5th Degree Black Belt Kenpo and a 4th Lakan (Black Belt) in Arnis. Si-Hing Jon has been a professional martial arts teacher for the past 13 years, 10 of which have been in Concord California.
After years of martial arts experience and continuously looking better and more effective martial arts material & methods, Si-Hing Jon has dedicated himself to learning Wing Tsun and Latosa Escrima. Both arts were chosen for their ultimate combat effectiveness, sophistication and excellent teaching and training methods.
Sihing Andy Howse
Sihing Andy Howse is a fifth generation San Franciscan and a seafood wholesaler by trade. He fell into Wing Tsun in a roundabout way, first practicing Korean martial art Kuk Sool Won. Having experienced the effectiveness of Wing Tsun, he traded styles immediately.
“I have found a home in WT and an everlasting journey. One that in the end will bring me from seafood to Sifu.”
“Wing Tsun Kung Fu to me is the search for perfection. Something that is inevitably unattainable but through constant effort for long period of time will give an extraordinary result. Wing Tsun in the end is much more than a fighting style, but a search for a new way of life. Walking, talking, and seeing the world will eventually all be affected by Taoist, Buddhist, and Confucianist philosophies. The immediate search for effective self defence and then beautiful fighting only scratches the surface. Wing Tsun is an everlasting road to a new way of life. Taoism in motion, leads to Taoism in everyday life.“
Sihing Mike Chilton
Mike was raised in Menlo Park where he played sports and attended school. Near the end of high school he began looking for an activity to keep in shape. He tried several marital arts, then was introduced to Wing Tsun and was astounded. Never before had he seen a martial art that could be so easily explained and demonstrated and yet so diffucult to become proficient at. He has grown to love the family dynamic that Bay Mountain has and the feeling that even though he is not always able to do a technique correctly simply by spending the time and effort his Wing Tsun has gotten better. Every chance he get, he attempts to convey the simple and effective self-defense applications of the first programs while showing the depth of the thought that has gone into the whole system. The sense of progress and working together as a community that he has experienced in all Wing Tsun classes is something that he tries to continue and makes seminars feel like family reunions.
Sihing Steve Crandall
Si-hing Steve Crandall has been active in martial arts for the past 26 years and is a former United States Marine. Si-hing Steve has studied Judo, wrestling, kick-boxing, Kali, Escrima, has a 1st Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do and presently is 2nd Level Technician in the Bay Mountain Wing Tsun organization.
Outside of teaching Wing Tsun and self defense, Sihing Steve enjoys riding his motorcycle, organizing volunteer opportunities for local charities, running and reading.
Sihing Colter Tackett
Sihing Colter has been practicing Bay Mountain Wing Tsun since 2003. He feels it is very fun and challenging. There is always more to learn and ways to improve what one has already learned. Wing Tsun makes his body feel great and gives him confidence that he could defend himself if he had to.
Sihing Andy Johnson
Sihing Andy Johnson has been fascinated with martial arts since childhood. His fascination led to an exhaustive exploration to find the one style that "fit" his personality, ideals, and needs. He believes that in life, all battles are won through intelligence and cunning, and Wing Tsun is by far the most sophisticated, intelligent martial art out there. It's a way of life, a way to evolve, a way to grow.
